Is Everything Alright with... Richard Oakes?
Concerns grows for Suede's Richard Oakes whose fondness for buns, pies and other foodstuffs now threatens to undermine the group's once gaunt image.
The guitarist, who joined the arty band as a svelte 17-year-old in 1994, seems to have ballooned, while his bandmates appear to have become thinner. To make matters worse, the well padded replacement for the twig-like Bernard Butler also recently admitted he was "not very good at reading", arguing that the problem was one of logistics. "It takes me a long time," he confessed. Fortunately, Oakes does share his bandmates love of art. Eschewing the usual pop art greats such as Warhol, Pollock, Jasper Johns etc. He only likes paintings for his mate, Pete.
